What is Friction?
Friction deploys crypto index perpetual contracts on Hyperliquid via HIP-3. We provide the index methodology and oracle — Hyperliquid handles trading, settlement, and custody. Trade TCAP (total market cap), BTC.D (Bitcoin dominance), and MEME (memecoin index) directly on Hyperliquid.
Do I need a separate account?
No. Friction markets trade on Hyperliquid. Use your existing Hyperliquid account and USDC balance. No additional wallets or sign-ups needed.
What are the fees?
Taker: 9 bps (0.09%), Maker: 3 bps (0.03%). Standard Hyperliquid fees with 2x HIP-3 multiplier. No hidden fees, no deposit/withdrawal fees. See full fee breakdown.
What leverage is available?
TCAP and BTC.D: up to 20x. MEME: up to 10x (reduced due to higher volatility).
How does the oracle work?
Friction's oracle aggregates data from multiple institutional sources, applies manipulation-resistant filtering, and publishes prices to Hyperliquid in real time. It has a five-level failover system ensuring 99.9%+ uptime. Read more.
Can I lose more than my margin?
No. Hyperliquid uses isolated margin — your maximum loss per position is the margin you allocate. You cannot go into negative balance.
